Cloud Nine - Life is Good!

Cloud Nine has been on the Boardwalk for 20 years! I am so getting old!

Lana Zhukova makes unique picture frames like the one pictured below.
She uses the jewelry to create the design.

I asked the owner of Cloud 9 what was the big hot seller.
"Life is good," he said.
Okay, I thought, life is good, that's nice, but what's selling?
"LIfe is Good," he said again. Duh, it's a brand of clothing! And it's really nice.
"It's the guy with the big smile on his face," said Paul Moses. "LIfe is Good has ties to our area. Ocean City and Life is Good is really a very harmonic marriage. The concept is Ocean City, and life is good in Ocean City. It doesn't get any better than to have that ocean out there.
"I think it's intriguing, not so much what is going on in our store, but what's going on out there," he said, pointing to the ocean, stretching as far as the eye can see from the Boardwalk. "It's what makes it so special. Think about Saturday, with that storm. It was awesome! People were lined up along the Boardwalk and the Music Pier watching people surf. I've never seen anything like it. That's people's tranquility out there, the ocean.

Moses said he has seen some changes in the product line since he opened in the 1980's. I remember, my son was a tiny tot riding in a stroller!

"The styles change in some respect, but they stay the same," he said. "We saw kids and families come in then, we see kids and families come in now. We had kids and families here a hundred years ago. It's what we're about.
"The only difference is that we see more tatoos now," he said.

The LIfe is Good product line is very nice. They make soft cotton clothing for kids, men and women.
"It's quality, custom made to be sold at the shore," said Moses. "It's softly washed, and it's very comfortable. It wears well. We are not a souvenir t-shirt shop here, this is real quality clothing."

I am so happy to read this article and to see that Cloud 9 is still on the OC boardwalk. I worked for Paul and Rene Moses for two summers between high school and college and have such fond memories of the store - thanks for sharing this and making my day, around 7 years since I've last been to the Jersey Shore!
